With your own site, you produce authoritative information about your business instead of outsourcing this service by opening up a field to potentially unreliable sources. Put on your website the company logo, location and other details that need to be noticed, such as services and top selling products aimed at showing your business to potential new customers. To reinforce your new website as an integral part of your business, create a new batch of business cards with your Internet address highlighted with a larger font. 2. Do not respond to comments online

As a proud former TripAdvisor employee, I understand very well the tremendous influence that online reviews have on potential clients. The content of these comments can boost a business overnight or force you to fear the doors over time. When hotel owners asked me the secret to managing their TripAdvisor reviews (I often contacted them when they were affiliated with the site), I honestly liked to say, “Answer honestly.”

Online reviews are the opportunity to engage with customers and hold a conversation. If you are lucky enough to receive excellent reviews, extend your hand and thank the customer. If you receive a negative comment on a review site like Yelp or Complaint Here, answer with apologies and offer to get things right the next time they return to your establishment. Be honest about what has contributed to a bad experience and ensure that it will never happen again. Potential customers will appreciate the frankness and understand that even the best companies go through difficulties.

3. Do not manage business information in Google Local

Google Local should be viewed as an extension of your own site. It takes a few minutes to insert content that can have a tremendous impact on how your business will be listed and displayed in Google’s search results. The more valuable content you provide through the interface created specifically for business owners, the more professional and trustworthy your business will seem to potential customers.
